How do I find a rental?

Also known as LA, La-La Land, the “Creative Capital of the World” and the City of Angels, Los Angeles is loaded with possibilities for RV travelers. Hollywood glitz and glamour, dreamy beaches, world-class museums and galleries, fine dining and shopping, family fun … Los Angeles offers all of it, wrapped in a sun-kissed Southern California vibe.

LA is a massive city with an enormous amount to see and do, so you may want to consider a guided tour to get yourself oriented, as well as optimize your time. Los Angeles is also an easy jumping off point for Disneyland (about 30 miles away) and other California hotspots like Palm Springs and San Diego.

There are numerous options for parking your RV. Popular choices include Hollywood RV Park (Van Nuys), Dockweiler RV Park (on the beach in Playa del Rey), and Soledad Canyon RV and Camping Resort (Acton). Anaheim Harbor RV Park is one of multiple options closer to Disneyland.

Pro tips: The city covers more than 500 square miles, and Los Angeles County has more than 500 miles of freeways and expressways.

Whether you’re in your rig, a tow vehicle, a rental or something else, be prepared for more lanes than you’re used to, aggressive drivers and some truly miserable traffic. Leave ample time to get where you’re going. And try to avoid the morning rush hour (7-10 a.m.) and the evening rush hour (4-7 p.m.)

Make memories at DisneylandJust 30 miles from Los Angeles, the Disneyland Resort is one of the world’s most visited destinations. It includes two theme parks: Disneyland itself, and Disney California Adventure. Meet Mickey and Minnie, check out the relatively new Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge experience, take in the nightly parade and fireworks … you get the idea. Plan to spend at least a couple of days if you can.

Picture yourself at Universal StudiosHollywood is synonymous with the film industry, and Universal Studios is one of the best places to experience the fun of it all. It’s a theme park as well as a collection of studios. See movie sets as you tour the back lot, <a href="https://www.universalstudioshollywood.com/web/en/us/things-to-do/rides-and-attractions/the-world-famous-studio-tour"> </a>visit The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, check out Jurassic World, and more.

See ancient bones at La Brea Tar Pits &amp; MuseumThe<a href="https://tarpits.org/"> </a>Tar Pits are a must-visit destination for natural history enthusiasts. Visitors can see bones of ancient animals that were trapped in the tar over the years – including sabre-tooth tigers, wooly mammoths and giant sloths.

Hollywood: Take it as a sign, walk with the stars and moreWhether you see it from a distance or hike right up to it, the famous Hollywood Sign will leave no doubt that you’ve arrived. Other Hollywood attractions include the historic TCL Chinese Theatre, the Paramount Pictures Studio Tour, and the 2,700+ stars along the Hollywood Walk of Fame. There are many tours available focusing on different aspects of Hollywood, including homes of the stars and local hauntings.

Experience California’s glamorous sideIf you want to feel like a star yourself, try window shopping along chic Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills, or cruising palm tree-lined Sunset Boulevard. A trip along iconic Mulholland Drive provides outstanding views of the city.

Soak up the Southern California sunVenice Beach features famous sunshine, surf and a 2-mile boardwalk that is one of Southern California’s most visited destinations. It is known for street performers, pickup basketball games, bodybuilders, restaurants and more. The nearby Santa Monica Pier and beach is another hotspot, with a mini-amusement park and a 1920s carousel. If you aren’t in a beach mood, try hiking one of the many trails at 160-acre Runyon Canyon Park.
