Do you allow travel to the Burning Man event?

Most of our owners prohibit travel to Mexico and driving on primitive roads. Each owner has policies outlined in their rental terms and conditions.

Is there anywhere where I cannot drive?

In colder climates where temperatures reach below freezing, many owners winterize their RVs to protect the water system from damage. In some cases, you may de-winterize the RV by following instructions for proper use and by accepting liability for freezing damage. A de-winterization fee may apply.

Can I rent an RV in the winter? If so, is there running water?

Nestled between the famous Great Salt Lake and gorgeous mountain ranges, Salt Lake City blends natural beauty with history to create stunning architecture and activities galore. “SLC” is Utah’s capital city, located at the intersection of two major interstates – I-80 and I-15, making it a popular stop for RV enthusiasts.

Salt Lake City is also a terrific jumping-off point for some of America’s most beautiful national parks. The “Mighty Five” of Arches, Bryce Canyon, Canyonlands, Capitol Reef, and Zion are all within a half-day’s drive to the south. But, if you're interested in visiting Yellowstone, you'll need to take a trip up North. Looking to stay put? Salt Lake City is an RVer's retreat in itself.

There are dozens of campgrounds and RV resorts near Salt Lake City. Popular choices include the Salt Lake City KOA, the Pony Express RV Resort &amp; Campground, the Park City RV Resort, and the Cherry Hill Camping Resort.

Pro tip: For downtown adventures, you’re allowed to park your rig in a paid lot at N. 300 W. and W. South Temple. From there, you can ride the TRAX light rail for free if you stay within the downtown area.

Bone up at the Natural History Museum of UtahDinosaur bones – a lot of them – are just one small part of this popular museum’s offerings. The museum boasts more than 1.6 million items in its collection. You can find it at 301 Wakara Way.

Meet critters at Hogle ZooA favorite for tourists and locals, Hogle Zoo features endangered red pandas among more than 800 animals that call it home. It’s located at 2600 E. Sunnyside Ave.

Stargaze at Clark PlanetariumA must for fans of space and science, Clark Planetarium offers 10,000 square feet of exhibits, a full-dome theatre, cosmic light shows, and much more. You can find it at 110 S. 400 W.

Soak up nature at a public parkPopular public parks include Liberty Park (600 E. 900 S.), which is an 80-acre gem that is home to the Tracy Aviary and the historic Chase Mill. Sugar House Park, located at 1330 E. 2100 S., is also a popular choice.

Take a hikeYou can hike both in and around Salt Lake City! Popular locations include Lake Blanche in Big Cottonwood Canyon, a moderate/difficult trek. For an easier hike and a great view of the city (especially at sunset), try Ensign Peak.

Marvel at Temple SquarePlan to spend a good chunk of your visit to Salt Lake City here. Temple Square, located in the heart of the city, features the stunning Salt Lake Temple, the Salt Lake Tabernacle (home of the famed choir), the Church History Museum, and much more. Note that the temple will be closed for renovations until 2024.

Trek through Red Butte Garden and ArboretumLocated next to the Natural History Museum of Utah at 300 Wakara Way, this 100-acre wonder includes 21 acres of botanical gardens and five miles of hiking trails through native vegetation.

Float on over to the Great Salt LakeAn easy drive from the city, the largest salt-water lake in the Western Hemisphere offers hiking, biking, boating, wildlife watching, and numerous other activities. In the summer months, test your buoyancy in the hypersaline water. You can take a guided tour or explore on your own.

Get spooked on the Salt Lake City Haunted Old Town TourFor some spooky fun, check out Grimm Ghost Tours of Salt Lake City. Visit the city’s most haunted spots and test out authentic ghost-hunting equipment. Beware though … some tours may be too intense for younger children.
